Dynamic Workflows

Dynamic hierarchical workflows can be integrated on Brightflag.

Dynamic hierarchical workflows provide you the option to set approvers on invoices based on approval thresholds.

For example: the approver at stage 1 can be the internal matter lead/department head or a specific user. If the user at stage 1 does not have permission to approve an invoice of $X, the user’s manager is set as the approver at stage 2. Similarly, if the manager at stage 2 does not have permission to approve an invoice of $X, their manager is added as an approver at stage 3, etc.

The Fallback Reviewer designation is a safeguard and would only be added if a dynamically added manager/user is unavailable or their account disabled in the platform.

Examples of when the Fallback Reviewer would be added include:

- The manager chain reaches its end and the invoice level is still above the last manager’s threshold
(Can be considered the same as above) A user has a threshold set, but no manager configured
- A user has no threshold set at all
- Misconfiguration on user’s approval level (missing required fields)
