Your ability to view Matters in Brightflag depends on:
Your user permissions
If you cannot find a Matter, it may be:
Closed (and hidden by default)
Restricted due to permission changes
Not created in Brightflag
If you still cannot locate it after following the steps below, contact your company’s Brightflag Administrator.
🔎 How to Search for a Matter
Go to Menu > Matter Management > Search/Add Matters
Update the Status filter from Open to All to include closed Matters
Use filters (Vendor, Practice Area, Matter Type, Date Range) if needed
Enter the Matter Name or Matter ID (Customer Matter ID) in the search bar
Click Search
Select the Matter Name to open the Matter overview page
🧠 If You Can’t Find the Matter
✅ Check spelling of the Matter Name or ID
✅ Change the Status filter to All
✅ Remove extra filters
✅ Confirm the Matter exists
✅ Verify your access with your Brightflag Administrator
📄 How to View All Invoices in a Matter
Once you’ve opened the Matter:
Click the Matter Reference to open the overview page
Select the Invoices tab
View all invoices associated with the Matter
Click an Invoice Number to open the Invoice Analysis page
