Finding or Searching for Matters in Brightflag

The matters you can view in Brightflag depend on your user permissions and the status of each matter. If you are unable to find a matter, it could be because:

  • The matter is closed and hidden by default

  • Your access to the matter has been changed or removed

  • The matter does not exist in Brightflag

In some cases, the matter may no longer be available to you at all. This could be due to the matter being closed by your admin or changes to your permissions. If you're still unable to locate it after following the steps below, please reach out to your company’s Brightflag Administrator for further assistance.

🔎 How to Search for a Matter in Brightflag

Step Action
1 Go to Menu > Matter Management > Search/Add Matters

🧠 Tips & Troubleshooting

If your search returns no results, try the following:

✅ Double-check the Matter Name or Reference is entered correctly
✅ Change the Status Filter to “All” to include closed matters
✅ Review your filters – you may be narrowing the search too much
✅ Ensure the matter exists in Brightflag and has not been deleted
✅ If the matter is missing or not available, it may need to be created. Refer to: Creating a Matter
✅ Confirm with your Brightflag Administrator if your access has changed

📌 Important: If a matter has been closed or your permissions have been updated, it may no longer be visible in your account. Only your company’s Brightflag Administrator can confirm and adjust access.
