How to Add Files and Emails to a matter

Keep all relevant documents and communications organized by adding files and emails to a Matter in Brightflag.


📁 Adding Files to a Matter

🖥️ From the Brightflag Platform

1️⃣ Go to the Matter Overview Page.
2️⃣ Click the Emails & Files tab.
3️⃣ Drag & drop files or click Browse to select files.

Supported file formats: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, JPG, PNG, and more.


📧 From the Brightflag Outlook Add-in

1️⃣ Open Outlook and select an email.
2️⃣ Click More Actions (⋮) > Brightflag Add-in.
3️⃣ Search for the Matter Name or Reference.
4️⃣ Select the relevant matter from the dropdown.
5️⃣ Use checkboxes to select email attachments.
6️⃣ Click Upload.

📌 Uploaded files will appear in the Matter’s Files & Emails tab.


⚠️ Troubleshooting Upload Issues

✔ Ensure the file format is supported.
✔ Refresh the page if files don't appear.
