Before a Vendor User can access a Matter in Brightflag, their law firm must first be added to that Matter.
- Vendor Admins – Automatically gain access to the Matter once their vendor has been assigned.
- Office Admins – Require their vendor office to be assigned to the Matter.
- Standard Users – Must be individually assigned to the Matter.

🛠️ Assigning a Vendor User to a Matter

Go to Matter Management > Search/Add Matters and click on the Matter Reference to open the Matter Overview.
- Click the "Vendors" tab.
- Based on the current vendor assignment status:
- If no vendor has been added:
- Click "Get Started", then select the vendor from the dropdown list.
- Select the Vendor Office from the second dropdown list.
- In the Vendor Users field, remove the "Only Admins" option by clicking the ❌.
- Select the user from that office you want to add to the Matter and click "Add".
- If an existing vendor is already assigned:
- Click "Edit Vendors", select the vendor you want to add from the dropdown menu.
- Select the Vendor Office from the second dropdown list.
- In the Vendor Users field, remove the "Only Admins" option by clicking the ❌.
- Select the user from that office you want to add to the Matter and click "Add".
- Choose "Add New Vendors" to ensure that existing vendors remain assigned and click save.
📌 Note: If a law firm user cannot find the Matter in Brightflag after being added, refer to this guide for troubleshooting steps.
