The Brightflag Spend Overview Dashboard provides real-time insights into your legal spend. Access is available to:
✔ Administrators
✔ Overview Users
✔ Department Overview Users
The spend amount displayed is based on the matters and departments you have access to. Spend totals include both pending and approved invoice amounts based on the invoice date.
📌 Navigating the Spend Overview Dashboard
1️⃣ Go to the Spend Overview
- Navigate to Menu > Overview
2️⃣ Apply Filters
- Use the Departments dropdown to filter spend by department.
- Select a Start Date & End Date (filters by invoice creation/issue date).
- Click Filter to apply changes.
3️⃣ Explore the Data
- Click Show More in any tile for additional insights.
- Click on a firm's name to view associated matters and spend.
4️⃣ Exporting Data
- Click Print (📄) at the top right to export the entire dashboard.
- Click Print next to individual tiles to export specific data.
5️⃣ Viewing High-Value Matters
- The highest value matters appear at the bottom of the dashboard.
- Click Show 5 more to reveal additional high-value matters.
📌 Note:
- Matters not assigned to a department are excluded from calculations by default.
- To include all matters, uncheck the option for "Toggle All Departments".
📊 How Is Spend Defined?
🔹 The company-wide spend calculation is configured in your background settings.
🔹 To view your spend calculation method:
- Navigate to the Summary tab of any matter.
- Click the info icon (ℹ️) next to the Min Budget Chart.
- A description of your spend calculation and default date type will appear.
🔄 How Can I Change the Spend Calculation?
📌 Only Client Admins can modify the spend calculation. To request a change, please Submit a Request to Brightflag Support.
✔ Available Spend Calculation Options:
1️⃣ Invoice Total (Amount to be Paid):
(Fees - Discount + Expenses + Taxes)
2️⃣ Invoice Total Excluding Tax:
(Fees - Discount + Expenses)
3️⃣ Fees Excluding Discount:
(Fees - Discount)
