Bulk updating matters saves time when making the same change across multiple matters.
How to Bulk Update Matters 🔄
1️⃣ Navigate to Matter Management:
- Go to Menu > Matter Management > Search/Add Matters.
2️⃣ Filter to Find Matters:
- Use at least one filter to refine your search.
- Click Search once filters are set.
3️⃣ Select the Matters to Update:
- Use the tick box beside each Matter Ref to select matters.
- To select all open matters on the current page, tick the box at the top left corner.
⚠️ Important:
❌ Closed matters cannot be updated. To edit a closed matter, reopen it first.
4️⃣ Click the Green "Update" Button:
- Located on the right side of the results table.
5️⃣ Select the Property to Update:
- Choose the Matter Property from the dropdown.
- Enter the new value(s).
Available Bulk Update Fields
You can update various matter properties in bulk, including:
✔️ Allocations
✔️ Matter Category
✔️ Department
✔️ Entity
✔️ Internal Matter Lead
✔️ Matter Participant
✔️ Matter Status (to bulk close matters)
✔️ All Custom Matter Fields & Categories (unique to your company, created by Admins)
6️⃣ Apply the Updates:
- Click Apply to save the changes.
7️⃣ Confirmation Message:
- A pop-up message in the bottom left corner will confirm:
✅ "X matters updated successfully."
⚠️ Important Considerations
Q: When performing a bulk matter update, does the "Select All" checkbox at the top of the matter list apply to all pages?
A: No, the "Select All" checkbox only applies to the matters displayed on the current page. If you have multiple pages of matters, you must bulk update per page—the selection does not carry over across all pages.
Q: Can I bulk update all pages at once?
A: No, bulk updates must be done per page. If you have 20 pages of matters, you will need to navigate through each page and apply the update separately.
